We really enjoy spending time at Athenry.

For us its location is perfect- it is in a leafy lane opposite the edge of the Treggana Castle estate. There are beautiful views of trees for the east facing windows upstairs.

It is tranquil and quiet. However a short walk down hill means you are on the beach watching the waves and the sand. The Portminster Beach Cafe must rate as one of the most special places to sit and have a coffee, a light snack or the most delicious evening meals. It is one of our favourite places.

The light that has drawn so many artists to this place is spectacular and St Ives is an amazing place to be whatever the season.

We often come on our own for the weekend and the house has a nice cosy feel. However the house is fantastic for sharing with friends or reunions there is so much space, the children can disappear downstairs to their den while the adults can enjoy a cool glass of wine upstairs.
